NIKE >> RUN

Pretty nifty little marketing push that Nike recently executed a park.  They removed the seat portion of some benches and had the top piece branded with their logo and the word run to encourage more running and less sitting.  I love when large corporations do grassroot projects like this.  Makes me feel like they still care about their image at every level.

These Smithsonian ads were never run by the Museum itself, but instead was a school project for two Atalanta college students.  It would be pretty cool if an organization like the Smithsonian took this approach to their marketing.  I think it’s humorous ads like these that make history more interesting to the masses.  When you think history and museums, you think stuffy and stale.  These ads instantly change that image.  The power of marketing…

Whether it’s worded fake, replica, imitation, “like”, or copy.  Support the legit brands!  Companies spend millions of dollars to conduct R&D and depend on successful sales of items in order to recover their investment.  Not only do you get better quality with real products, but you’re also helping insure companies like Volk will stay around longer to hopefully design and innovate even more products in the future.  Yes, I know, the real stuff isn’t cheap.  I too was once a starving college student…the only Rays Engineering product I had. and could afford, was a Volk poster on my wall.  But I still ate a steady diet of Top Ramen to make sure one day I’d be able to afford the real thing.  Don’t front, you’re only cheating yourself.

Bold Choice

I absolutely love this new Jim Beam commercial.  As part of their “bold choice” campaign, the ad talks about life, and how the choices we make, mold and determine the people we become.  Life is full of choices, day in and day out, we must make solid decisions no matter how difficult they may seem.

“All choices lead you somewhere, bold choices take you where you’re supposed to be…”

Let’s hope we’re all making the correct bold choices.  Become legendary.
