It’s pretty crazy how aggressive the Mercedes line up has gotten over the past few years. I remember growing up, Mercedes was always the classy but somewhat stuffy brand that older people drove. Now, half their cars are available with some type of V8/V12 bi turbo or supercharged variant. Kudos to their engineering and marketing team for giving the brand some bite!

AMG adding a whole new meaning to “in the heat of competition”. There’s rumors that the DTM Touring car championship could be adding some stops to the United States in the next few years. I sure hope so…I’d much rather watch these beasts slicing and dicing road courses rather than a tube frame Toyota Camry run in circles ovals.

I dunno, maybe it’s just me…but I think the owner of this car went a little too overboard with Matte Purple. Sure the SLS is a performance car, but in my opinion, it’s a little too classy of a car to paint/wrap an obnoxious color.

There’s a saying, there’s no replacement for displacement. Some would argue you can in fact replace displacement with forced induction. What do you get when you force induct a large displacement engine? Answer, the AMG SL65 Black Series…there truly is no replacement for the V12 twin turbo engine at the heart of this monster.
Fun fact: The V12 twin turbo makes 661hp. Engineers at Mercedes Benz had to detune the engine down to 661hp because they couldn’t build a transmission strong enough to handle a higher output.
